One Gets Three! Chroma Expands Its 1U Three-Channel 40–100V DC Power Supply Lineup

30 Jun 2025

Chroma ATE has expanded its DC power supply portfolio with the 1U three-channel 62000E Series. Featuring digitally controlled circuitry and high-power SiC MOSFETs, the series delivers fast, stable performance, high power density, and up to 92% conversion efficiency. The 62000E Series currently offers 54 models in single-channel and three-channel versions. Per-channel output power ranges from 1.7kW to 5kW, output voltages span 40V to 1200V, with output current up to 150A.

Designed for multi-channel testing and production environments, the 62000E Series delivers an optimal solution for production test applications like automotive component/system testing, reliability testing of aerospace satellite power systems, long-duration endurance testing of active and passive components, integrated power for industrial and medical systems, powering and burn-in testing of power semiconductor devices, LED and laser diode testing, as well as solar (PV) module production and burn-in.

Compared with traditional power solutions, the 62000E Series adopts a high-power-density design that provides up to three 1.7kW channels in a slim 1U chassis. High-voltage isolation between channels enables independent voltage/current control and measurement on each channel. This saves space, reduces energy loss, simplifies test wiring, and offers a cost advantage.

The 62000E Series offers two output types: Auto-range output and Fixed-range output.
Auto-range models combine high-voltage/low-current and low-voltage/high-current capability in a single unit. This makes them especially suitable for test & measurement ATE racks, replacing multiple DC power supplies to cut both cost and footprint.

Fixed-range models have a predefined operating range suited to DUTs with fixed specifications. They offer manufacturers a cost-effective choice for integration as a power source into production equipment.

In addition, the 62000E Series features a web-based remote control interface. Users can connect to the instrument directly via a browser on smartphones, tablets, or computers to monitor multiple DC power supplies and DUT status anytime, anywhere. During long-duration burn-in, engineers can supervise DUTs in the lab remotely from the office, improving efficiency and reducing the need for on-site inspections.
