Chroma ATE Safety Lab Earns SGS FIMKO CTF Recognition(IECEE Platform)

04 Nov 2025

Advances as a Globally Compliant Electrical Safety Testing Facility

Chroma ATE Inc. announced that its safety laboratory successfully passed the SGS FIMKO assessment on August 18, 2025, achieving recognition as a Customer Testing Facility (CTF) under the IECEE scheme. This recognition designates Chroma's laboratory as an internationally compliant SGS FIMKO CTF safety laboratory.

The recognition was conducted in accordance with selected sections of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and the IECEE OD-2048 requirements for CTFs. It affirms that Chroma's laboratory meets stringent international standards for technical competence and quality management, and is fully capable of delivering world-class electrical safety testing services.

The Special Importance of CTF Testing Laboratories

A CTF is a customer-owned testing laboratory that has obtained third-party recognition and is qualified to independently perform testing to international standards. Chroma's achievement demonstrates its strong technical capabilities and robust quality management in electrical safety testing. This helps customers and industry partners accelerate time-to-market, reduce testing costs, and enhance overall testing autonomy and efficiency.

The SGS FIMKO recognized scope includes IEC 61010-1 (electrical safety requirements for measurement, control, and laboratory equipment) and IEC 61010-2-030 (special requirements for test and measurement circuits such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers). The coverage spans a wide range of safety verification items required for measurement and laboratory equipment around the world.

International Registration Strengthens Market Presence

Chroma's successful SGS FIMKO assessment and SGS FIMKO CTF recognition have been officially listed on the International Electrotechnical Commission's IECEE platform. Customers worldwide can now review the laboratory's credentials, reinforcing their confidence in Chroma's testing capabilities.
Vincent Wu, Vice President of R&D at Chroma ATE, stated: "This CTF recognition highlights Chroma's strengths in testing technology and quality management. It affirms our capability to independently perform globally consistent safety compliance testing, which provides real value in shortening product verification cycles."

The Broader Impact of SGS FIMKO Recognition

SGS's evaluation and SGS FIMKO CTF recognition of Chroma ATE's safety laboratory mark a deepening of collaboration between SGS and Taiwan's technology industry.
For Chroma, this means that its R&D, production, and testing workflows now fully align with international standards. The recognition enables more efficient use of equipment and resources, reduces sample loss and logistics risks, accelerates testing cycles, and supports international alignment and upgrading across the industry.

For the broader market, it ensures that more products undergo rigorous and professional safety validation prior to launch. Robert Chang, Deputy General Manager of SGS Taiwan's Connectivity & Products division, stated: "Chroma ATE's safety laboratory complies with the applicable sections of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and IECEE OD-2048, demonstrating trustworthy testing capabilities. We are honored to recognize it as an SGS FIMKO CTF laboratory."
